Terrarium Care Instructions

Thank you for bringing a piece of nature into your home! Our handmade terrariums are crafted to be unique, miniature worlds. Because each piece contains different elements (such as real moss, dried flowers, and crystals), please follow the specific care instructions below to keep your terrarium looking beautiful for years to come.

1. Lighting (Sunlight & Placement)
Indirect Light Only: Place your terrarium in a spot where it receives bright, indirect light.

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Never place your glass terrarium in direct, harsh sunlight. The glass can magnify the heat (greenhouse effect), which may burn live moss, fade the colors of dried flowers, and overheat the interior.

Hanging Terrariums: If hanging near a window, ensure it is not exposed to direct afternoon sun.

2. Watering & Moisture
For Terrariums with DRIED FLOWERS (No Watering Needed):

DO NOT WATER. Keep them completely dry. Moisture will cause dried flowers to wilt, mold, and rot.

If condensation appears inside the glass, simply open the lid/dome for a few hours to let it air out.

For Terrariums with REAL MOSS / LIVE PLANTS:

Sealed or Semi-Sealed Glass Cloche: These usually create their own micro-climate. You may only need to add a few drops of water (using a spray bottle or dropper) every 2-4 weeks, depending on the condensation on the glass. If there is heavy fog inside, stop watering and let it air out.

Open Terrariums: Mist the moss lightly with distilled water once a week. The moss should feel slightly damp, but never soaking wet. Do not overwater—there should be no standing water at the bottom.

3. Temperature & Environment
Room Temperature: Terrariums thrive in normal indoor temperatures (65°F - 75°F / 18°C - 24°C).

Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Keep away from radiators, heaters, air conditioning vents, or drafty windows. Extreme hot or cold can damage the plants and the glass.

4. Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning the Glass: Wipe the outside of the glass with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For fingerprints, slightly dampen the cloth.

Inside the Glass: If you need to clean the inside of the glass, use a soft brush or a long cotton swab. Do not use chemical glass cleaners inside, as they can harm the moss and plants.

Handling: Our terrariums are made of delicate glass. Handle them gently. When moving a hanging ornament, hold the glass body rather than swinging it by the string.

5. Important Safety Notes
Fragile: All glass domes and cloche items are fragile. Handle with care.

Hanging Safety: For hanging terrariums, regularly check the hanging string or hardware to ensure it is secure. Hang them away from high-traffic areas to avoid accidental bumps.

Keep Away from Children & Pets: These items contain small parts (like crystals, small figurines, and moss) and are delicate. Keep out of reach of small children and pets.

A Note on Handmade & Natural Variations
Because our products feature natural materials and are assembled by hand, your terrarium may look slightly different from the photos. The arrangement of the moss, the size of the crystals, and the shape of the dried flowers will vary—making your piece 100% unique to you!
